6375 Fifth Line,
Fergus
At 31 years old I have been a resident in and around Centre Wellington the majority of my life. For the past 11 years I have owned and operated Advanced Small Engines and Marine, here in Centre Wellington.
I am a member of the local Maranatha Canadian Reformed Church here in Fergus.
I have spent pent 3 years on education committee also 6 years on Public Relations Committee for local Christian Schools.
With my business experience feel that I could help maintain Centre Wellington as a good and affordable place to live and conduct business.
It seems to be a well-known fact that the Township has a spending problem. I would like to take a close look at new spending projects with renewed focus on infrastructure in the Township (road/sewage/water)
New Business development seems to be a great stretch, with the rising cost to start and maintain a viable business. This area needs a good hard look to encourage new jobs and keep continual infrastructure money staying in the Township. With new jobs come local housing development and local spending.
Downtown area’s seem to be clearing out and this could be addressed with a cost analysis and a look at the long term planning for the down town core (parking/events & the Market)
Township needs to know their budgets and be able to supply the services needed without exceeding them, creating huge deficits that in turn causes high interest payments on the taxpayers.
Currently we spend a lot of money on the economic Development Fund and we do not seem to be seeing a lot of results. (Maybe time to change our strategies).
This Township is made of small villages that I would like to see included in the infrastructure planning.
There have been no questions yet.
